Raced at S.I.T.S. and Mountain Mayhem (to 6th solo) and Bontrager 24/12 (until i dropped out…i was about 4th at the time). It’s comfy, lightweight, fast, stable, snappy handling, yummy looking and i like it lots. It’s a great bike to spend all day riding across hill and dale munching up the miles and eating up singletrack and superb at taking all your race effort and turning it into speed.

Hopefully it should continue go very fast with me on top of it, for many many hours at a time!

Brant’s Scandal 29er

scandal 29erSpec: On-One Scandal 29er frame | On-One carbon superlight forks | On-One smoothie regular headset | Shimano XT M760 groupset | On-One stem | On-One fleegle bars | On-One grips | On-One Twelfty seatpost | Planet X saddle | Planet X A57 SP Pro rims | DT spokes | Geax Saguaro 2.2 tyres | Crank Bros eggbeater S pedals | Ladybird bell

Borrowed for the Strathpuffer back in Jan (got 2nd on it), not given back yet cos, well, cos it’s too much fun. How much fun you ask?; well, it’s on it’s 3rd chain and 2nd full drivechain in 6 months, that’s how much fun!
It also makes the ultimate 24hr solo race spare bike 🙂

The Bullit

the bullitSpec: Santa Cruz Bullit frame w/6ins travel (14.5ins frame) | Fox Vanilla RC shock | Rock Shox BoXXer Race forks | XT rear mech | shagged LX shifters & bottom bracket | Deore front mech  | XT 4-pot 160mm rear disc | Hayes HFX MAG DH 203mm front disc | Race Face turbine crankset w/ Middleburn chainrings | Sachs PC69 chain | Azonic Fusion Mag pedals | Tioga oversize DH Bar | Amoeba shorty CNCed Stem | DMR grips | Continental Diesel 2.5ins tyres on DMR DV rear rim | DMR Revolver cassette disc hub | Halo Freedom Disc front wheel | System EX seatpost & WTB pure V saddle|

With it’s BoXXer forks, new 20mm thru axle front wheel and big 203mm disc I think the bullit can be classed as a proper freeride bike. Not 100% sure, but i reckon the weight must be around 42lbs, so i’m definately keeping the 3 chainrings rather than getting a DH chain device, otherwise i’ll never get anywhere on it!
Big thanks must go to Matt for lending me a nice CNced stumpy stem to replace the Tioga Cube which began to split around all the bolts (scary)
a more uptodate pic is on the way…
